How to Measure Your Dick
Do it the way the studies do, so your number is real and comparable. Two measurements: length and girth.
Length (BPEL)
- Get fully erect. Measurements only mean something at full hardness.
- Press to the bone. Push a ruler into the fat pad until it meets the pubic bone (bone-pressed). This stops a fat pad from hiding length.
- Measure along the top from the bone to the tip. That number is your BPEL.
Girth
- Wrap a soft tape around the thickest part of the shaft while erect.
- Read the circumference. That is your girth. Average is about 11.7 cm (4.6 inches).
Common mistakes
Measuring soft, not pressing to the bone, measuring the underside curve, or using a stiff ruler on girth. Same method every time = a number you can actually trust.
How to measure FAQ
How do I measure my dick correctly?
Erect, with a soft tape or ruler: press it to the pubic bone and measure along the top to the tip. That is BPEL (bone-pressed erect length), the standard used in studies.
What is BPEL?
Bone-pressed erect length: you press the ruler into the fat pad against the pubic bone, so a bigger pad does not "steal" length. It is the fair, comparable number.
How do I measure girth?
Wrap a soft tape around the thickest part of the shaft while erect. That circumference is your girth. Average is about 11.7 cm (4.6 inches).
Why do my measurements vary?
Arousal level, temperature and how hard you press all change the number. Measure fully erect, same method each time, for a consistent result.
